This is where I have planted my flag, this is the City of Brass, Atlantis, Ophir, and Valhalla for my imagination. My literary heroes are the masters of the pulps, the kings of the Victorian adventure novel, and all those others who wrote two-fisted tales of derring-do. There is a line that runs from Homer singing of the Achaean heroes at Troy in the hall of a Greek king to Bob Howard tapping out tales of Conan at his desk in Cross Plains. It connects Seigfried to the Continental Op and Allan Quartermain to Tros of Samothrace. Here's where I toss my contribution into the pot.
